Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical installations meet all safety standards and code requirements, contributing to the success of construction, renovation, and industrial operations. Responsibilities
- Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system functionality.
- Work on low voltage and high voltage systems safely while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work during new builds or renovations; assist with framing carpentry and handyman tasks as needed.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and system modifications.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized in your jurisdiction.
- Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of industrial control systems and schematics.
- Commercial electrician experience is highly desirable for diverse project engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, NEC compliance, and high voltage systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of framing carpentry and renovation projects.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills combined with excellent attention to detail in electrical diagnostics.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces while following all safety procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
