Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cannabis Retail Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our retail cannabis store. This role is vital in ensuring a seamless customer experience, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, managing staff effectively, and driving sales growth. Duties
- Lead and supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies and legal regulations in the cannabis industry
- Manage staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and ongoing development to build a motivated and knowledgeable team
- Oversee inventory management including purchasing, stock control, merchandising, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities
- Ensure accurate cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) system operation, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and financial recordkeeping
- Implement effective sales strategies through marketing initiatives, product placement, and pricing adjustments to boost revenue
- Maintain compliance with all local and state cannabis regulations by conducting regular audits and staff training on legal requirements
- Handle customer service issues promptly and professionally to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Manage store budgets, monitor sales performance metrics, and develop operational plans for continuous improvement
- Coordinate with vendors for purchasing supplies and managing inventory levels efficiently
- Supervise cashiering activities including cashier training on POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Develop team management practices that promote communication skills, leadership development, and employee orientation
- Oversee store cleanliness, safety protocols, merchandising standards, and overall store appearance to create an inviting shopping environment
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail store operations with a focus on sales team leadership in the retail industry or grocery sector
- Demonstrated success in supervising teams with strong organizational skills and managerial communication abilities
- Experience in inventory control, purchasing processes, POS systems operation, cash handling, and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of retail sales strategies including pricing techniques, merchandising tactics, marketing initiatives, and promotional planning
- Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, budgeting principles, and administrative responsibilities in a retail setting
- Strong leadership skills with experience in training & development programs for staff members at various levels of experience
- Excellent communication skills or bilingual proficiency is a plus for diverse customer engagement
- Previous experience working within the cannabis industry or regulated environments is highly desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently through effective time management skills while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $47,607.85 - $57,334.18 per year
