Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the mechanical and/or electrical assembly of manual and automated equipment.

Operate a variety of equipment including small hand tools, microscope, drill press, grinders, or other machines for assembly of product.

Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to insure quality.

Trouble-shoot system failures.

Validation and verification of equipment - Assure product quality.
-
Maintain procedures and suggest process improvements as necessary.

Read and interpret mechanical, electrical & pneumatic prints and diagrams.
-
Teamwork with other departments.
-
Follow safety standards and utilize safe work practices.
-
Provide technical interface to other staff members for Quality Assurance as needed.

Develop and promote process improvements.
-
Understand and maintain agency certification requirements including but not limited to OSHA, UL, CE, and CSA.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent and experience in machine assembly and/or electromechanical repair.

Detail-oriented documentation and problem-solving skills.
-
Knowledge of machine design and ability to read prints and diagrams.
-
Ability to read a Bill of Materials (BOM).
-
A solid knowledge of electronic components and soldering experience is necessary to perform daily functions.

Proficiency with various hand tools for mechanical fabrication.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:

Sitting or standing for long periods at a time.

Handling stress of ever-changing priorities.
-
Moderate bending and moderate to heavy (up to 20 lbs) lifting.

Continuous wearing of safety glasses & other PPE in work area.
Working Conditions:
- Adheres to the time and attendance requirements as established by the department supervisor.
- Conditions may vary from office to light industrial manufacturing as well as the warehouse when work issues dictate movement throughout the building.

Continuous noise of assembly work and hum of a variety of machines.

Works with small components requiring vision acuteness.
