Industrial Electrician (PLC Programming & Automation)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with strong programming capabilities to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and automated equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems up to 480V and proficiency in PLC programming to support our automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment, including motors, drives, controls, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and automated machinery to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to implement process improvements and new automation projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including NFPA 70E, OSHA, and company policies.
- Document work performed, maintain accurate records, and assist in developing electrical drawings and control system documentation.
- Support the integration of new equipment and machinery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical experience (minimum 4–7 years in an industrial/manufacturing setting).
- Strong PLC programming experience required (Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar).
- Proficiency with HMI programming, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and control systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends for urgent repairs.
- Must have own hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with robotics, SCADA systems, or vision systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
- Basic mechanical aptitude (pneumatics, hydraulics).
