What You'll Do
Lead the organization's post-award grant accounting function
Supervise and mentor a team of grant accounting professionals
Oversee financial management for more than 400 active grants ranging from thousands to tens of millions of dollars
Ensure compliance with federal, state, tribal, and grantor regulations
Prepare and review grant financial reports, reconciliations, and closeouts
Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve grant visibility and financial performance
Partner with leadership, program managers, auditors, and outside CPAs
Improve grant accounting procedures and internal controls
Support ERP implementation and ongoing process improvements
Train and develop newer accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Several years of grant accounting experience with a strong focus on post-award administration
Previous leadership or supervisory experience
Strong understanding of grant compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations
Excellent organizational and communication skills
A process improvement mindset with the ability to lead organizational change
Someone who genuinely enjoys mentoring and developing others
Preferred:
Governmental, nonprofit, tribal, healthcare, or higher education grant experience
Experience with grant nonprofit accounting systems
