Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Engineering Department)
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are well-maintained and meet brand standards, contributing to a safe and comfortable guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests (e.g., HVAC issues, plumbing, electrical concerns)
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, systems, and building components
- Troubleshoot and repair systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances
- Maintain proper records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
- Assist with room inspections to ensure readiness and quality standards
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and safe
- Identify and report major repair needs or safety hazards to management
- Support renovation projects and special assignments as needed
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance or engineering experience preferred (hotel experience a plus)
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when needed
Work Environment:
- Indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to mechanical equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
