Sparkle & Surf is hiring a part-time Vacation Rental Cleaner / Turnover Assistant to help with vacation rental turnovers, rental refreshes, move-in/move-out cleanings, deep cleans, and occasional small office cleaning.
We are an owner-operated cleaning business focused on reliability, attention to detail, and clear communication. Our goal is simple: help every property feel clean, comfortable, and ready for the next guest, tenant, showing, appointment, or workday.
This position will start at approximately 8–16 hours per week, with the potential to grow into more hours or a full-time role as demand increases.
Position Details

- Must be able to travel to properties in our service area
- Paid training provided
Responsibilities
- Clean and reset vacation rentals between guest stays
- Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and common spaces
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, wipe surfaces, and remove trash
- Make beds with owner-provided clean linens when available on-site
- Restock owner-provided supplies when clearly available
- Assist with move-in/move-out cleanings, rental refreshes, and deep cleans
- Follow Sparkle & Surf checklists and cleaning standards
- Take photo updates when required
- Report visible maintenance, damage, supply, or property concerns
- Handle cleaning supplies and equipment safely
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing Sparkle & Surf
Ideal Candidate
- Reliable and punctual
- Detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in vacation rentals, homes, condos, and small offices
- Able to follow written checklists and directions
- Able to work independently after training
- Takes pride in clean, finished spaces
- Communicates clearly if something is missed, damaged, low, or needs attention
- Comfortable with physical work and being on your feet
- Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn our process
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a working phone
- Must be able to lift, bend, reach, carry supplies, and stand/walk for extended periods
- Must be comfortable using cleaning products safely
- Must be dependable with scheduled shifts
- Must be able to pass any required background or reference checks
- Previous cleaning, hospitality, housekeeping, or vacation rental experience is helpful but not required
Schedule
Vacation rental cleaning often depends on guest check-out and check-in times, so the schedule may vary from week to week. Most work will take place during daytime hours, but weekend availability is important.
Starting hours will likely be 8–16 hours per week, with more hours available as demand grows.
Pay
Starting pay is $14 per hour, with the potential for increases as reliability, performance, speed, quality, and demand grow.
