POSITION: Special Education (MoCI) Teacher LOCATION: Groves High School
In accordance with the BEA salary
SALARY: schedule as part of the CBA POSTING DATE: June 9, 2026

SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE - Ten Month/FullTime START DATE: August 25, 2026
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a SA (Special Education – Cognitive Impairment) endorsement
or ability to obtain this endorsement
- Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge in the content area of service and MARSE regulations
- Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents,
and staff
- Demonstrated competency in student management and supervision
- Passion and commitment to improving learning outcomes for all students
- Demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare and implement quality instruction and assessments
- Provide a physically and emotionally safe learning environment for all students
- Work collaboratively with colleagues
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with students and stakeholders
- Have awareness of, support and implement district and building initiatives and core values
- Understand and attend to the individual needs of students as learners
- Ability to implement effective instructional strategies, and appropriately utilize materials, resources and
interventions for all students to be able to demonstrate academic growth
- Demonstrate standards of professional behavior that serve as a model for students
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by building administration
