Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and delivering outstanding customer service. Your expertise in coffee preparation and your ability to connect with customers will play a vital role in enhancing our café atmosphere.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Open and close the café reliably, ensuring readiness for daily operations.
- Operate the POS system for order processing and cash handling.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, syrups, pastries, and other supplies.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure accurate cash handling during shifts.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and support overall café operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of barista experience in a specialty coffee shop or café.
- Valid Food Handler Certification (required).
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sales skills to promote menu items effectively while providing exceptional customer service.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order processing accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when needed.
- Friendly demeanor with excellent communication skills to engage with customers effectively.
