Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Excavator Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy machinery to assist with excavation, material handling, and site preparation activities. Your expertise will help ensure projects progress smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and related construction machinery such as loaders, backhoes, dozers, cranes, and dump trucks to perform excavation, grading, lifting, and material movement tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating heavy equipment and handling materials.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to execute project plans accurately and efficiently.
- Use hand tools and hydraulics systems for minor repairs or adjustments on machinery as needed.
- Handle various materials including concrete mixes, soil, gravel, and debris with precision using appropriate equipment such as water trucks or tanker trucks when required.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, backhoes, and dump trucks on construction sites.
- Knowledge of hydraulics systems, equipment safety procedures, and occupational safety regulations.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving; familiarity with operating water trucks or tanker trucks is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues and performing routine maintenance on construction machinery.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently during equipment repairs or site tasks.
- Strong understanding of construction site protocols including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use and safety compliance standards.
- Construction experience involving material handling equipment operation such as roll-off trucks or farm machinery is advantageous.
