Job Summary
Central Valley Builders Supply is looking for a hardworking, dependable Yard Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for safely loading customers, operating a forklift, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and efficient lumber and building materials yard.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has forklift experience, provides excellent customer service, and works well in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload customer vehicles and delivery trucks.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Organize and maintain inventory throughout the yard.
- Receive, stock, and rotate incoming materials.
- Assist customers by locating and loading building materials.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Inspect materials for damage and report inventory discrepancies.
- Work closely with the sales team and drivers to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform other yard and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Forklift certification is a plus but not required. We will provide certification for qualified candidates who successfully complete our forklift training and evaluation.
- Basic bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 94 pounds safely and repeatedly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in building materials, lumber, or construction supply is preferred but not required.
