Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans for small groups that incorporate curriculum standards and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Teach a broad range of math subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Discrete Math, and Differential Equations
- Utilize classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment conducive to active participation and respectful interactions.
- Assess student progress through assessments and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Support students’ individual learning styles by adapting teaching methods for learners from various cultural backgrounds and those requiring special education accommodations.
- Mentor students through academic advising sessions or tutoring to reinforce understanding of challenging topics such as Proofreading in mathematical writing
Skills
- Strong knowledge of mathematics including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Discrete Math, Differential Equations
- Experience designing curriculum implementation plans that align with educational regulations and standards.
- Proven classroom management skills with the ability to foster an engaging learning environment for middle school and high school students.
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, student mentoring, parent engagement, and teacher collaboration.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies based on students’ learning styles and cultural backgrounds; experience working with diverse populations is preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or proof of enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree Program) - all areas of study considered

- NOT required to pass Pearson/Praxis exam
- NOT required to have NC Educators license
