Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
- Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort
- Take and develop medical imaging, such as X-rays, while adhering to strict safety protocols and infection control standards
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes
- Hands-on experience with infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols in a dental office environment
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and the ability to perform patient care assessments effectively
- Proficiency with dental office software such as Dentrix is highly desirable
