JOB DESCRIPTION
A well-established structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to join their leadership team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead all construction operations, project management, and field execution

Oversee multiple structural steel erection projects from preconstruction through closeout
-
Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, forecasting, and profitability

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, contract, and customer requirements

Coordinate project execution between estimating, detailing, fabrication, and field operations
-
Review constructability, erection sequencing, crane plans, and project logistics
-
Develop and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, and trade partners
-
Resolve project, scheduling, engineering, and field challenges
-
Implement quality control procedures and operational best practices
-
Monitor KPIs related to schedule, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction
-
Drive process improvements and leverage technologies such as BIM, Tekla, and Procore
-
Mentor and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and future leaders
-
Report operational performance to executive leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
-
10+ years of construction management experience with at least 5 years leading structural steel operations
-
Proven success managing large commercial and industrial structural steel projects
-
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection methods, welding, bolting, and project sequencing

Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and multi-disciplinary teams
-
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry standards
-
Proficiency with Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Project, Tekla, BIM, or similar software
-
Excellent leadership, communication, financial, and organizational skills
