POSITION SUMMARY: This role supports cybersecurity operations in the BJU IT department. Successful candidates are BJU students with a strong interest in cybersecurity, solid research and documentation skills, and familiarity with email security, Windows, and Office applications.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigate, categorize, and take action on reported phishing emails
- Research vulnerabilities and exploits to determine applicability, adjust risk levels, and document findings
- Analyze audit logs of various security controls to determine impact of implementation
- Research other security controls and their impact as necessary
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University - IT and Cybersecurity majors preferred.
- Understanding of email authentication methods, phishing attacks, and social engineering
- Must be able to demonstrate personal interest in cybersecurity.
- Network+, Security+, or other relevant certifications
- Personal projects & labs
- Activities not required by CpS coursework
- Familiarity with Windows and Office Applications
- Strong research and documentation skills are required
