Position: Maintenance Technician

40-48 Hours a week with paid overtime
As the lead maintenance technician you will be responsible for upkeep of all pumps, piping, and other mechanical systems of both the waste water and wash rack area. You are to communicate with both teams about breakdowns and fixing schedules.
Must have own tools
Communication
· Preventative maintenance- must inspect daily all yard equipment to ensure consistent function of operational assets
· Find breakdowns and leaky items throughout the yard, solve alone if possible recruit help from lead if need be
· Communicate between wash rack and maintenance department
· Communicate between waste water and maintenance department
Duties
·Direct Maintenance assistant
· Must have his own set of tools to do the work
· Works on small projects as assigned by Maintenance lead or Plant manager
· Diagnose and assess damaged or broken pumps, compressors, boiler, plumbing, and electrical.
· Alert Maintenance lead or plant manager if any purchases need to be made for repairs
· Fix diaphragm pumps, gas pumps, submersible pumps or any other pump as assigned by Maintenance lead
· Assembly or Disassembly of any projects as deemed by maintenance lead
· Repair or refurbish hoses
· Construct or assemble pipping as instructed by maintenance lead
· Other maintenance task as assigned by maintenance lead
· Record a log of all projects performed by maintenance lead and Maintenance assistant
· Plan for scheduled preventative maintenance
· Notify of low propane tank, diesel and gas
· Create tools to assist Avalon technicians if needed
Encouraged skills
· Forklift, backhoe, pressure washer repair, diaphragm pump, electical motors
· Tractor and trailer experience
· Plumbing (PVC, cam lock, hoses, fittings)
·Boiler experience, air compressor experience
· Welding experience
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, unpleasant odors, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
