American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Behavioral Health Adult unit position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring 2+ years of psych/BHU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Adult Behavioral Health inpatient unit serving patients ages 18-65
-
Patient population includes anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality disorder, and suicidal ideation
-
14-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately 7 patients
-
Patient ratio of 1:6

Day shift, 7a-7p
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
May be required to float within a 25-mile radius of the facility

EMR: MediTech
-
13-week contract
-
Active Iowa RN license or a Compact RN license required
-
AHA certifications required (BLS at minimum)
-
ADN or BSN required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) or psychiatric setting required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible

Onboarding requires an Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) — no instant or statewide searches accepted

All background checks must be fully cleared prior to start

Mandatory Reporter certification (Child and Adult) required for onboarding

10-panel drug screening including opiates required
-
Titers required within the last 12 months: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB
