Job Brief
Become part of our team! We are in search of a professional, vibrant, and passionate individual to take on the role of Catering Sales Manager in our company. The focus of the Catering Sales Manager is to sell catering to meet client needs and expectations and to grow and maintain customer relations.
A large part of this job is to establish relationships with wedding professionals, event planners, venues, limited-service hotel sales directors, convention sales managers, travel sports league organizers, car dealerships, funeral homes, legal, financial and medical offices, senior living, planned housing communities, government and state associations, corporate employee appreciation event organizers, schools and colleges, and any place or opportunity for groups of people that need to be fed!
This role will also involve managing a small FOH team, event planning, hands-on food preparation when needed, off-site event management, and lastly retail sales in our prepared foods market.
Responsibilities
- Maintain catering calendar with upcoming events, marketing strategies, and sales history.
- Develop and secure new relationships with prospective clients. Prospecting is a big part of this job.
- Prepare weekly and month end catering sales reports to keep management abreast of activities.
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients.
- Recruit, hire, and train staff in accordance with company’s policy and guidelines.
- Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company. Secure signed contracts, collect deposits, and final payment.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Owner/Operator, Chef, Sales Support, and clients to ensure a successful catering.
- Liaise with clients for feedback to improve quality and services. Send end of event Thank you and feedback form.
- Assist with the logistics of the events – prior to and on location.
- Maintain a database of clients.
- Create an accurate operational transaction record. Ensure all events are “closed out” by processing final payment.
- Implement marketing plans to increase business. Host tasting events and cookie/menu drops in the community.
- Work in our Market which sells Meal Plans, regrigerated and frozen Prepared Foods, and other hospitality themed goods.
Requirements
- Preferred - Associate’s degree or above
- Minimum of 2-year experience in catering, sales or hospitality is essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct market research is essential
- Ability to build rapport with prospective clients
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
