Summary
Prime is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Technician to perform advanced testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of complex electronic assemblies and systems. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in military communications, RF systems, avionics, radar, defense electronics, telecommunications, or other high-reliability electronic environments.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, be capable of diagnosing failures to the component level, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of electronic theory, digital communications, and electronic test methodologies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform setup, calibration, verification, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and systems.
- Conduct board-level and system-level functional testing on digital, analog, and communications-based products.
- Analyze test failures and isolate faults to the component and PCB level using schematics, technical documentation, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, digital multimeters, signal generators, frequency counters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Support testing and troubleshooting of RF, wireless, communications, and embedded electronic systems when applicable.
- Develop, modify, and execute test procedures to verify product performance and compliance.
- Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and failure analysis activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and improve product reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test results, failures, repairs, and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot customer returns (RMA's) and support failure investigations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of electronic theory, including analog, digital, RF, and communications systems.
- Experience troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies to the component level.
- Ability to diagnose intermittent and difficult-to-isolate failures.
- Familiarity with digital communications, signal processing, RF systems, wireless technologies, or military communications equipment.
- Experience working in a high-reliability manufacturing, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or military environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Military Electronics Training, or related technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and testing complex electronic systems.
- Military electronics experience strongly preferred, including backgrounds such as communications systems, avionics, radar, electronic warfare, signal intelligence, satellite communications, or related technical specialties.
- Equivalent combination of education, military training, and relevant experience will be considered.
