Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across designated routes. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including those with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles.
- Plan and follow optimal routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, delivery records, and compliance documentation in line with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments as needed.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly for transport, including handling logistics cargo handling procedures for different types of freight.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all phases of driving, loading, unloading, and cargo handling activities.
- Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies on the road or at delivery sites by following established safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a strong understanding of trucking operations and logistics cargo handling.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; experience with manual transmission is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods.
- Experience operating various truck types including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks or similar vehicles.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments.
- Strong driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance during route driving activities.
- Physical ability to handle freight manually when necessary and operate equipment such as forklifts when required.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers effectively.

Pay: $31.10 - $33.15 per hour
