Oversee and manage all of the activities of a residential construction site according to project blueprints and schedule. Manage projects and supervise the day-to-day activities involved with residential construction.
Pay: Based on experience level.
Duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites
You must be able to:
· Manage a team of subcontractors and vendors, maintain a schedule, project progress, create cost estimates for labor, supplies and materials.
· Coordinate with Home owners, Project Managers and other construction management.
· Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with vendors and suppliers.
· Create schedules for work crews and subcontractors.
· Delegate work, hold suppliers and subcontractors accountable to schedule and budget.
· Maintain Daily Logs for jobsite operations and reporting to management as necessary.
· Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
You must use a variety of soft skills, technical abilities and industry knowledge to manage a construction project effectively, including:
· Excellent communication abilities: writing, speaking and active listening
· Knowledge of construction best practices.
· Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies.
· In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
· Great problem-solving and decision-making skills
· Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal-setting and conflict management
· Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking
As a supervisory position, Superintendent candidates should have multiple years of previous experience in the residential construction industry. Previous managerial experience on a construction team is also beneficial.
Must possess an attitude to embrace company culture, vision, and mindset of, "serve in a hurry".
Must be able to maintain a schedule.
