Duties
- Assist in menu planning to ensure balanced, appealing meal options that meet dietary guidelines
- Prepare and cook food items using proper techniques such as slicing, chopping, and portioning with precision knife skills and slicing techniques
- Follow strict safety standards during food production to ensure food safety and hygiene compliance
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support catering events by preparing and serving meals efficiently and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas in accordance with safety standards in production
- Serve meals to residents or customers with friendly, attentive customer service skills
- Assist in inventory management by organizing supplies and rotating stock to minimize waste
Experience
- Previous experience working in dietary departments, food service, or related culinary roles is highly preferred
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and serving within a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices is essential
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, including knife skills and slicing techniques, enhances efficiency
