Responsibilities
- Safely operate a cargo van, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations during route driving.
- Load and unload packages efficiently using manual lifting techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary.
- Manage daily delivery schedules, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs at multiple locations.
- Provide outstanding customer service by communicating professionally with clients and addressing their needs promptly.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, route logs, and any incidents or delays encountered during shifts.
- Navigate routes effectively using GPS or route planning tools to maximize efficiency and reduce transit times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or cargo vans.
- Must have insurance on vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving license (CDL) is a plus but not required.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely and perform physical tasks such as moving boxes or pallets.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including load & unload procedures using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude in all interactions.
- Knowledge of route driving, heavy lifting, moving, and basic vehicle maintenance practices.
- Prior experience operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous but not mandatory.
