Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver and take on an exciting role that combines skill, responsibility, and adventure. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers on OTR routes.
- Load and unload freight with precision, utilizing manual handling techniques and ensuring proper securing of cargo according to logistics cargo handling standards.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption.
- Ensure compliance with all FMCSA, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations during transportation and delivery processes.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to maintain safety standards; perform basic truck maintenance as needed.
- Document all deliveries accurately, including load details, delivery times, and any incidents encountered during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delays, or safety concerns to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially in over-the-road (OTR) routes involving freight delivery across long distances.
- Must have Experience.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT laws, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling of cargo is a plus.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS systems; excellent route planning capabilities for efficient deliveries.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually when required; good stamina for long hours on the road.
