As we continue to expand our heavy civil and utility construction operations, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Foreman to join our field operations team.
Position Summary
The Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily field construction activities related to wastewater treatment systems, lift stations, pump stations, and underground utility installations. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans, specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in wastewater treatment plant construction who can effectively manage crews, equipment, schedules, and quality while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership
- Supervise and direct daily field operations and construction crews.
- Coordinate crew assignments to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Mentor and train field personnel while promoting teamwork and accountability.
Construction & Installation
- Oversee the installation of wastewater treatment systems, lift stations, pump stations, piping, valves, tanks, and underground utilities.
- Verify layouts, elevations, grades, and measurements.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractors as required.
- Troubleshoot field issues and implement practical solutions.
Safety & Quality
- Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Ensure all employees wear appropriate PPE and follow safe work practices.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Identify and correct deficiencies promptly.
Project Coordination
- Review project drawings and specifications with the Superintendent.
- Monitor daily productivity and labor performance.
- Maintain daily reports, field logs, and material usage records.
- Communicate project progress, delays, and issues to the Superintendent.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in heavy civil, utility, or wastewater construction.
- Previous experience as a Foreman or Crew Leader.
- Familiarity with wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) construction.
- Welding experience required.
- Equipment operator experience required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong understanding of underground utilities, piping systems, pumps, and wastewater infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work overtime or weekends when project schedules require.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- CDL License.
