Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, appealing when necessary
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain accurate patient records, including demographic information, insurance details, and billing history
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure proper documentation of services provided
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and CPT
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing preferred
- Previous experience in medical billing or related field preferred

- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
