Job Overview
We are seeking a second dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and patient care. Prior general dentistry experience required. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental care while adhering to all safety and clinical protocols.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies using aseptic techniques
- Take dental X-rays
- Review medical history
- Provide chair-side assistance with dental terminology and infection control protocols
- Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain sterilization standards and ensure all equipment meets infection control guidelines
- Assist dental hygienist with room set-up sterilization and perio charting as needed
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental office is required
- Knowledge of general dentistry procedures including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and anatomy knowledge is beneficial
- Experience with X-ray procedures, and chairside assisting is essential
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance, and infection control practice
- Hours: Mon 8-5, Tues 10-6, Wed 8-2, Thurs 10-6. Closed Fri and Sat
