Greenway Innovations: Facilities Technician Job Description
Job Summary: Facilities Technicians needed for a medical waste processing facility located in Florence, KY. A Facilities Technician has a widely varying role, from checking in and weighing containers, moving/unloading waste containers, cleaning and maintaining reusable containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. Initial operation will be a swing shift ideally / 2nd shift 5-days per week, with an initial starting time of noon. We are committed to employee safety, environmental compliance and proper training. Position to report directly to the Manager of Operations and Facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Weigh incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers
- Load & unloading /operate our autoclave machine
- Unload autoclave bins into the compactor
- Load & unloading the container washing systems
- Drive a forklift and operate hand trucks once trained
- Must be able to lift up to 55lbs and push a cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
- Assume light maintenance
- Water quality monitoring
- Loading/unloading trucks/trailers
- Provides attention to detail
- Can stand for extended periods of time
- Works well with a team
- Other related activities as required to operate and maintain the operation
Experience:
- Up to 3 years’ experience working in a waste processing facility, manufacturing facility, warehouse or other like business preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Certified forklift operator (preferred but not required).

We are offering a competitive initial wage of $17.50 per hour, with a guarantee increase of $2 after completing a 90-day probationary period. There will be a pre-employment drug screening.
