Job Summary
Wound Docs is seeking an experienced and compassionate Wound Care Provider (PA, NP, or Physician) to join our growing team in Orange County, California. This part-time position will initially provide coverage on Mondays and Fridays, with the opportunity to expand as patient volume grows.
This role focuses on delivering advanced bedside wound care services in skilled nursing facilities and other post-acute settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in surgical/excisional debridement, chronic wound care management, and advanced wound healing therapies.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide surgical/excisional debridement and advanced wound care treatments.
- Manage chronic wounds, including pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, and surgical wounds.
- Apply advanced therapies, including negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), skin substitutes, and Ultramist.
- Collaborate with facility staff and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and Medicare-compliant EMR documentation.
- Educate nursing staff on wound prevention, treatment protocols, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Active California MD, DO, PA, or NP license.
- Experience in advanced wound care and chronic wound management required.
- Experience performing surgical/excisional debridement required.
- Previous experience in skilled nursing facilities, wound clinics, LTACs, home health, or hospital settings preferred.
- Experience with skin substitutes, NPWT, and Ultramist preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills.
