Job Summary
Cafe Con Leche At Westland Join our dynamic team as a Cashier/Customer Service Associate, where you will be the friendly face and efficient operator at our retail or food service location. Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service to enhance their shopping or dining experience
- Handle food preparation tasks when applicable, including food handling and basic food safety practices
- Manage customer orders in food service environments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Upsell products or menu items to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly approach
- Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, including sanitation of counters, equipment, and dining areas
- Operate kitchen equipment safely when involved in food preparation or café operations
- Process cash transactions accurately, give correct change, and handle credit/debit card payments securely
- Assist with retail sales transactions, stocking shelves, and organizing product displays when necessary
- Follow food safety standards and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers
- Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple responsibilities efficiently with strong time management skills
Qualifications
- Previous experience in quick service restaurants, fast food establishments, retail stores, or grocery environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Experience in food preparation, handling food safety procedures, and operating kitchen equipment is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash register operations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations in the food industry or restaurant setting
- Prior experience with upselling techniques to enhance sales performance is advantageous
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks smoothly during busy hours
