AccelPath is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support a federal customer onsite in Norfolk, Virginia. This position will work with customer stakeholders, functional users, developers, and automation engineers to understand business processes, identify automation opportunities, define functional and technical requirements, and support solution design, testing, and implementation.
The role combines business analysis, systems analysis, customer facilitation, and technical problem-solving. It is not primarily a traditional software development position, but the successful candidate should be comfortable working with technical teams and contributing to low-code/no-code automation solutions such as UiPath.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate customer interviews, discovery sessions, requirements workshops, process reviews, and solution demonstrations.
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and systems integration.
- Document current-state and future-state processes through process maps, Process Definition Documents, Solution Design Documents, or similar artifacts.
- Analyze process volumes, cycle times, error rates, labor effort, complexity, and other metrics to assess automation feasibility, expected benefits, and potential return on investment.
- Develop functional and technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with developers, automation engineers, testers, and functional users throughout solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Identify system interfaces, data requirements, dependencies, exception conditions, security considerations, and operational impacts.
- Support functional testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, deployment, customer training, and post-implementation evaluation.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in systems analysis, technical business analysis, business process analysis, automation, software implementation, or a related field.
- Experience working with customers or functional users to analyze business needs and develop system or process requirements.
- Experience developing functional requirements, technical requirements, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, or system specifications.
- Experience collaborating with software developers, automation engineers, testers, or other technical personnel.
- Working knowledge of the software or systems development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Experience supporting functional testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, or defect resolution.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to functional stakeholders and business requirements to technical personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and process-mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active federal security clearance is highly preferred. Candidates without an active clearance must be able to obtain and maintain the clearance required for the position.
Additional experience with any of the following is preferred: Department of Defense or Department of the Navy customers; robotic process automation; workflow automation; UiPath; Microsoft Power Automate; Power Apps; ServiceNow; Appian; Automation Anywhere; APIs; databases; Agile; Jira; Azure DevOps; Confluence; federal cybersecurity; information assurance; records management; or data-handling requirements.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, business administration, management information systems, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant professional experience, training, and certifications may be considered in place of a degree, subject to applicable contract requirements.

Pay: $94,595.09 - $113,920.97 per year
