Irasburg Village School and Glover Community School are looking for part time School Nutrition Assistant Cooks!This is a 4 hour a day position with the potential of 5 hours/ day.RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with preparing, cooking and serving healthy, nutritious and appetizing school meals in accordance with all applicable child nutrition regulations. Ensure that safe food handling techniques and methods are maintained during all food preparation and service. Assist with cleaning and sanitizing food service production, storage and service areas in accordance with food safety regulations. Assist with the cleaning and sanitation of pots, pans, trays, and utensils.
Sweep and mop the kitchen area. Perform all other food service, cafeteria and school garden related duties as assigned. General: Promotes educational values of good health and nutrition to the school community. Communicates courteously and effectively with students, staff, families and public.
Completes and documents annual training requirements as provided by OCSU and the Vermont Agency of Education. REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand through the workday and walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach or squat and lift between 10-50 lbs. based on need and specific tasks. Able to accept instruction and work in a team environment.
Skill in developing positive interpersonal relationships, successful work relationships in dealing with supervisory personnel and sensitivity to students and community needs.
