Position Summary:
Functions as a key member of the health care team. Specific role functions include surveillance, analysis record keeping, monitoring and recording of pre-employment and annual employee health assessment screens, worker's compensation injuries, as well as managing bloodborne exposures, immunizations, illness and injuries. This position requires excellent customer service attitude and utmost confidentiality of all employee health records
Key Responsibilities:

Reviews completed health history form with applicant

Reviews / requests pre-employment lab test, D/S, CXR, if done, and any other pertinent tests done relevant to the applicant's line of work

Completes chart update with regards to antibody screenings, titers, and immunization

Performs pre-employment skills and annual health assessments/functional assessments for all new hires and current employees

Administers and monitors employee immunizations and prophylaxis of healthcare workers.

Administers the Mantoux vaccine and takes appropriate action regarding positive results and PPD conversions

Provides orientation relating to the employee health program to all new employees, volunteers and students

Demonstrates physical assessment skills in evaluating employees clearing to return to work

Responsible for assessing all Employee injuries and referring to workers compensation when necessary.

Responsible for communicating all information to Human Resources within a timely manner

Provides necessary data for monthly Safety and PI reports.

Provides assistance to First Responder or injured employee as needed.

Notifies Human Resources immediately if any employee is missing time from work to coordinate FMLA benefits, if applicable.

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Must possess one of the following requirements:

A minimum of five years experience in an acute care facility

A minimum of one year experience in employee health and/ or occupational medicine preferred.

License/Certification:
- Current Florida RN License
-
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross

Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross
