Job Summary
The IT Technician will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and supporting Hozio's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, security tools, and web-based platforms. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and communicate clearly with management.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and permissions
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, switches, and routers
- Deploy and manage endpoint security and monitoring tools (e.g., Trend Micro, Wazuh)
- Monitor network and system security, respond to alerts, and inform relevant parties of any incidents
- Manage and maintain WordPress websites, including plugins, updates, and troubleshooting
- Administer and support MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other database platforms
- Support and maintain Linux servers across both Debian-based and Red Hat-based distributions
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support to end users and escalate/resolve tickets in a timely manner
- Perform routine system maintenance, patching, and backups
- Document processes, configurations, and network diagrams
- Assist with IT projects such as system migrations, upgrades, and new deployments
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and company IT policies
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with Active Directory administration
- Experience configuring and managing enterprise firewalls
- Experience with enterprise-grade switches and routers
- Experience with security tools such as Trend Micro and Wazuh
- Required certifications (minimum): CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an IT department; MSP experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing and maintaining WordPress websites
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or other database software
- Experience working with Linux systems (both Debian-based and Red Hat-based distributions)
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask, Freshservice)
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, or Google Workspace)
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Understanding of VoIP systems and troubleshooting
- Additional certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, Linux+, or similar
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools
- Basic understanding of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, etc.)
