Duties
- Design and implement engaging piano lessons tailored to students with special needs, ensuring accessibility and progress for each individual
- Develop customized curricula that incorporate various teaching methods, including early childhood education, behavior management, and childhood development principles
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere by managing student behavior effectively and encouraging active participation
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, including working with children, preschoolers, and adults
- Incorporate supplementary activities such as photography, ballet, theater, or dancing to enhance musical engagement when appropriate
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, lesson plans, and behavioral observations to inform ongoing instruction
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or other educators to support holistic development and address individual needs
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching piano or music education with a focus on special needs or inclusive classrooms
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse learners
- Excellent classroom management skills to create a safe and motivating environment
- Experience working with children, preschoolers, or adults in educational settings
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and childhood development principles
- Ability to adapt lessons creatively using tools like photography or sewing for sensory or motor skill development when relevant
- Background in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable
