ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: The Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently searching for part-time graduate student assistants to be Fashion Tech Camp Counselor during the 2026 Camps in the Apparel Merchandising & Management department, under the supervision of Alejandra Parise.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
-
Work together in a team of students and faculty to effectively engage with campers.
-
Support student learning and assist in setting up activities for the campers.
-
Morning-afternoon-lunch care.
-
Classroom management.
-
Lead campers and assist director in daily activities such as tie dying, using software and equipment, sewing, knitting with circular looms, and a variety of other activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must be a student any major at Cal Poly Pomona in good academic standing. GPA 3.0 or higher.

Interested in community engagement and outreach.

Strong oral communication, organizational, and time management skills.
-
Able to take directions and follow instructions
-
Be comfortable talking to elementary, middle-school, and high-school aged kids
-
Be able to fill out forms and document any behavior issues.

Be available for training (in person and/or Zoom) in May
- Be available 15-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday for the following weeks:
- 6/8 to 6/12

PREFERRED:
-
Previously engaged in outreach and community engagement through a course, department, college or campus activity (within their major or campus-wide.).
- Any knowledge/experience in sewing, crafting, knitting, crochet, crafting.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Enterprises offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Enterprises also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Enterprises and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Enterprises administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Enterprises contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
