Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking tasks using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Follow recipes meticulously to ensure consistent meal quality and presentation.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly.
- Assist with menu planning and portion control to optimize food production.
- Support food handling procedures in compliance with safety standards and food safety management protocols.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service times.
- Organize food inventory trucks
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred.
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings demonstrating strong culinary skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with recipe adherence, meal prep processes, and catering experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with kitchen team members effectively.
- Basic understanding of the food industry’s safety standards and culinary techniques such as knife skills and slicing methods.
