Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of residential apartment communities. Your expertise will ensure that residents enjoy a comfortable living environment by performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and building interior upkeep. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, electrical equipment, HVAC systems, and facilities equipment using schematics, hand tools, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct carpentry tasks including repairs to walls, doors, cabinets, and other interior fixtures to maintain a high standard of building appearance.
- Execute maintenance painting projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of common areas and resident units.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) where applicable for system automation or troubleshooting purposes.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities in accordance with operational procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to resident repair requests and communicating clearly about work progress or completion.
Skills
- Extensive mechanical knowledge with experience in plumbing system maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency with electrical work including repair of electrical equipment and understanding schematics.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair and troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate hand tools efficiently and safely for various maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance including building interior upkeep and painting techniques.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices within residential settings.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Experience working with electrical equipment repair and electrical troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters.
- Ability to read schematics for complex systems involving HVAC or electrical components.
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective collaboration with team members and residents.
- Leadership qualities to guide junior technicians when needed while maintaining a positive team environment.
