Through inclusive, evidence-based practices we ensure compassion, dignity, and respectwith the assistance of caring and dedicated staff members.The RoleThe Coordinator of Communication & SLP provides quality speech/language services for students atPathways Strategic Teaching Center, and reports directly to the Director of Special Education. Thisrole involves developing augmentative and functional communication systems, conductingtrainings, consulting with educational team, conducting assessments, and providing direct/indirectservices.Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties: GENERAL DUTIES Assist in developing communication goals and objectives for Individual Education Plans(IEP), and lesson plans. Obtain consultation from other members of the team in areas outside own expertise, suchas the behavior analyst, supervising teacher, occupational therapist, and/or physicaltherapist, in order to fully address the individual needs of the student.
Maintain licensure and professional knowledge through participation in professionalorganizations, conferences and in-services. Document all activities in accordance with own licensure regulations and agency policies. Follow all agency guidelines and department specific policies, i.e. sick time or vacation timeusage and call-in policies, dress codes, etc.
as specified in personnel manual and PathwaysStrategic Teaching Center specific procedures.SPEECH SUPPORT Develop communication programs, augmentative and functional communication systems,and provide staff training. Provide individual or group direct speech/language therapy treatment when indicatedthrough consensus of the educational team and written into the childs IEP. Provide indirect and consultative speech/language therapy when indicated throughconsensus of the educational team and written into the childs IEP. Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations as needed Conduct student evaluations, providing oral and written information to the childs parentsand other team members.
Provide documentation of services consistent with Department of Education Regulations Work collaboratively to provide speech and language services that incorporate the teachingmethodologies consistent with ABA.The standard work hours for this position: M-F, 8:00A 4:00P, EST
