JOB Under general supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the Network Manager administers the Intranet/Internet and the website of the Authority. Also responsible for managing the network staff of the Information Technology Department and for end user satisfaction of network resources.
Because the Authority has a primary responsibility to serve the public 24 hours a day, an employee in this class is expected to work overtime as conditions demand and may be expected to accept overtime on short notice during emergency conditions or power outages. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Coordinates activities for the network and system interfaces with the system manager to ensure proper access of users to the applications system
- Installs, configures and maintains organization's network
- Builds networks and maintains external and internal web presence
- Administers network and workstation security and virus protection
- Performs system backup on its external and internal web network servers
- Designs and supports server systems and supporting software
- Assigns and monitors tasks for network specialists and assistants
- Informs end users and management of any pending or emergency network down time, changes in end user environment or added or deleted features of the network
- Assists in the network usage training of end users
Evaluates the performance of network specialists; sets performance guidelines and establishes standards for measuring productivity and efficiency of network staff

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Graduation from of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, communications or a closely related field, and at least six (6) years of experience in professional network administration work, three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
