Our client is currently seeking a qualified Image Packager to join their team in a remote role.
The Image Packager is responsible for creating, testing, deploying, and maintaining desktop and laptop operating system images and software packages. This role ensures end-user devices are configured according to customer standards, security requirements, and deployment schedules while supporting large-scale hardware refresh and endpoint management initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and deploy Windows operating system images
Package and distribute software applications for enterprise deployment
Perform device imaging and configuration activities
Install software, operating system updates, drivers, and security patches
Apply asset tags, barcodes, and device-specific configurations
Validate image quality and configuration accuracy before deployment
Troubleshoot imaging and deployment failures
Execute quality assurance testing and document results
Support hardware refresh, migration, and deployment projects
Maintain imaging documentation, build procedures, and standards
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and service delivery teams
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical skills required:
Microsoft Windows 10/11 administration
Microsoft Intune / Autopilot
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
OS deployment task sequences
Application packaging technologies (MSI, MSIX, App-V, PowerShell)
Active Directory and Group Policy
Endpoint security and patch management
Device provisioning and hardware configuration
Minimum 2 to 5+ years of desktop engineering, image packaging, or endpoint management experience preferred
Experience supporting enterprise refresh or migration projects preferred
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell preferred)
Experience with quality assurance and deployment validation processes preferred
Wage Range:
The rate for this position is between $21.64 - $28.85 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
