Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children in a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met throughout the day
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development based on early childhood education principles
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behavior, and daily activities to support individualized care plans
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's development, milestones, and any concerns
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health & safety regulations, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures
- Manage classroom routines such as meal times, nap schedules, diapering or potty training, and activity transitions with patience and professionalism
- Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive environment that supports children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or additional support
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers or preschool settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development instruction and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire), including pediatric first aid training
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Strong classroom experience demonstrating effective classroom management skills
- Excellent communication skills to foster positive parent relationships and team collaboration
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with energy, enthusiasm, and a caring attitude
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and early childhood education standards
