Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support complex litigation cases across a variety of practice areas, including civil, commercial, and family law. Your expertise will help streamline case management, facilitate legal research, and ensure the efficient handling of legal documents. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, trial support, and post-trial activities.
- Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all documents are accurate, complete, and easily accessible.
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case strategies across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, securities law, landlord-tenant law, family law, and immigration law.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, contracts, subpoenas, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel.
- Coordinate depositions and interviews with clients and witnesses; prepare summaries and reports for attorneys.
- Track deadlines and court filings to ensure compliance with procedural laws; maintain meticulous calendars for all case-related activities.
- Support litigation projects by managing data entry tasks, proofreading documents for accuracy, transcribing recordings when necessary, and handling confidential information with utmost discretion.
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience supporting litigation cases in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law across multiple jurisdictions; familiarity with civil litigation support processes is essential.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with document review and case management software like iManage or PCLaw is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly; experience supporting estate planning, family law or general & commercial litigation is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with familiarity with document management systems; experience with data entry and clerical tasks is required.
- Strong research skills combined with the ability to analyze complex legal issues critically.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment; project management skills are a plus.
