Thrive Academics is seeking dedicated Online Small-Group Tutors to provide virtual Math and English Language Arts support to elementary students who attend Sopori Elementary School in Amado, Arizona.
This position is fully remote, with all tutoring services provided online. Tutoring sessions take place Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:30 PM to 4:15 PM, based on the local time at Sopori Elementary School in Amado, Arizona (Mountain Standard Time – MST). Specific tutoring times and session lengths within this window are to be determined and may vary based on program needs. The full 2:30 PM to 4:15 PM block is not guaranteed. Applicants located outside the area should account for any time-zone differences when confirming availability.
Tutors will work virtually with small groups of students using applicable curriculum and instructional materials provided for the tutoring program. The goal is to provide engaging, structured academic support that strengthens students' Math and English Language Arts skills while creating a positive and productive virtual learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide virtual small-group tutoring in Math and/or English Language Arts.
- Provide clear and engaging academic support using applicable program curriculum and materials.
- Use professional judgment in selecting and adapting instructional strategies based on student learning needs and skill levels.
- Foster a positive, focused, and supportive virtual learning environment that encourages student participation and academic growth.
- Monitor student progress and maintain required attendance and session documentation through Thrive Academics' system.
- Support appropriate student behavior, participation, and engagement during virtual tutoring sessions.
- Communicate with Thrive Academics and applicable school personnel as necessary regarding scheduling, attendance, documentation, and other program-related matters.
- Complete required orientation and maintain all required compliance, student-protection, program-specific training, certifications, and clearances necessary to provide tutoring services.
Education Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following education qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in English, Literacy, Mathematics, or a closely related field; OR
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a closely related education field; OR
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in English, Literacy, Mathematics, or a closely related field and have completed at least 12 college credits in Math or English-related coursework; OR
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Elementary Education or a closely related field and have completed at least 60 college credits toward the degree.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must be able to meet all requirements listed below to be considered for this tutoring opportunity.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to beginning tutoring services.
- Completion of required Arizona Mandated Reporter training prior to beginning tutoring services.
- Completion of required program orientation before beginning tutoring services.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection suitable for live virtual tutoring.
- Functional computer or laptop with a working webcam and microphone.
- Ability to participate in live video-based tutoring sessions from a quiet, professional, and distraction-free environment.
- Ability to reliably access required online tutoring, documentation, and communication systems.
- Ability to communicate reliably with Thrive Academics and applicable school personnel via phone, text, and email.
- Comfortable providing online instruction to children in a small-group virtual setting.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
