Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic workspace.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary trends and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards during food production, including knife skills, slicing techniques, and proper storage practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as restaurant cooking or dietary aide positions is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety management and sanitation standards.
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques.
- Experience in meal preparation, recipe adherence, and catering is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff effectively.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus.
