Yard Driver (Ground/Hostler) - Intermodal Rail Yard

Position Summary
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Yard Drivers (Ground/Hostler) to join our team at our Wylie terminal.
This role starts as a Ground Person, directing crane operators and preparing railcars. After training, you will advance into a Hostler Driver, moving trailers and containers throughout the rail yard.
Schedule:
You must be available to work assigned shift & schedule
- 40 Hours
- Includes weekends and holidays
What You’ll Do
Entry-Level (Ground Person)
- Direct crane operators as containers are loaded/unloaded
- Prepare railcars by installing/removing IBC locks
- Climb on railcars and set derailers
- Ensure proper placement of containers and chassis
Hostler Driver (After Training)
- Operate yard trucks (hostlers) to move containers and trailers
- Transport containers within the intermodal yard
- Spot and park trailers/chassis for loading and unloading
- Maintain safe, efficient yard operations
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform routine equipment inspections
- Follow OSHA and company safety protocols
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with railroad staff to meet operational timelines
What We’re Looking For
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable with physical work and heavy lifting
- Open availability (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and team mindset
- Previous experience in yard operations, equipment, or logistics is a plus (not required)
