Job Description
BAE Systems, Space & Mission Systems (SMS), Military Space Strategic Business Unit is looking for a technical project manager III to lead operations activities for classified environments with cross-functional teams and ensure plans are developed and achieved to foster successful Military Space new business and program execution.
The Military Space Strategic Business Unit delivers innovative space systems that drive mission success and provides resilient and persistent mission-level solutions to deter threats and counter emerging capabilities for the Department of War.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for leadership and guidance that supports successful project execution primarily in classified areas in accordance with budget, schedule, security, facilities, information technology (including software, hardware, networks, and architectures), and other technical requirements.
- Focal point for establishing project execution goals and strategy in a fast-paced and often dynamic environment.

Assist in the creation of a vision that energizes and enables the cross-functional team to achieve success.
- Responsible for the project’s major metrics and tracking critical actions until complete, while managing customer and stakeholder relationships and communication.

Help define, secure, organize and direct cross-functional staff, resources, standards, processes, procedures, and tools essential to the successful completion of a project.
- Review and evaluate the project status on a continuing basis and work unplanned issues to a best solution, including development of plans-forward, escalation and increased resources, as required.
- Work closely with Strategic Business Unit (SBU) management to communicate project progress and resolve issues and concerns.
- Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations.
- Support execution team with required compliance with the government and company regulation, policies/procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure that project requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are communicated and flowed down to the internal team and any other program stakeholders.
- Employ proactive risk & opportunity management processes and practices to mitigate or capture potential project issues and improvements.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.

Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

A current, active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Polygraph.
- Demonstrated experience leading classified operations projects and activities.

Detailed understanding of the program customers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Solid project management skills and demonstrated ability to lead efforts, including an in-depth understanding of working with classified requirements.

Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant classified business environments. Influencing, communication, and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position.

Demonstrated strategy development and project management skills and demonstrated experience in leadership of cross-functional teams for design, planning and coordination necessary to establish classified program areas.

Communication and presentation skills to relay project information directly to senior decision-making and technical audiences.

Ability to translate end user requirements into cross-functional support team requirements and to weigh relevant technical trades.

Excellent communication, presentation development, and delivery skills; competent with MS Office computer tools including Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Office.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience working in military space, the intelligence community, or related industry.

Experience working and operating within DoW or IC classified program environments.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
