As a Preschool Teacher, you will create a safe, engaging, structured classroom where children ages 3 to 5 can learn through play, hands-on activities, conversation, routines, and positive guidance. You will help children build early literacy, math, social-emotional, problem-solving, independence, and classroom-readiness skills using our Life Essentials curriculum. As a Keystone STARS 3 facility, we value quality early learning, strong family communication, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate preschool activities that support early literacy, math, science, art, music, movement, and social-emotional growth.
- Create a warm, structured classroom where children feel safe, respected, engaged, and excited to learn.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, group time, centers, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and self-help skills.
- Use positive guidance to help children build emotional regulation, independence, cooperation, and friendship skills.
- Observe children’s progress and communicate with families through thoughtful updates and professional conversations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe classroom that meets PA childcare licensing, health, and safety standards.
- Work closely with your co-teacher and leadership team to provide a consistent, high-quality preschool experience every day.
- A caring, dependable educator who genuinely enjoys working with preschool-aged children.
- Someone creative, patient, flexible, and able to keep children engaged in a busy classroom environment.
- A strong communicator who can partner with families and work well with a co-teacher.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool classroom, or early learning environment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to obtain required PA clearances, including State Police, Child Abuse, NSOR, and FBI Fingerprinting.
- Ability to supervise children actively, sit on the floor, move around the classroom, and lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.
