Job Summary
Chamberland Professional Painting is looking for an experienced residential painter to join our team. We specialize in high-quality interior and exterior residential painting throughout West Hartford and the surrounding Central Connecticut area.
We’re looking for an experienced professional who takes pride in their work, understands proper preparation and finishing techniques, works safely and confidently on ladders, and can maintain the level of quality expected in our customers’ homes.
This is a full-time, year-round position. We keep our crews working through the winter and offer competitive pay based on experience, paid holidays, paid time off, a retirement plan with company match, and opportunities for overtime and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare interior and exterior surfaces through scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, filling, cleaning, and priming
- Apply paints, stains, primers, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Produce clean, professional finishes with strong attention to detail
- Properly protect floors, furniture, landscaping, fixtures, and customer property before beginning work
- Perform interior and exterior residential painting on both newer and older homes
- Safely and confidently use step ladders, extension ladders, scaffolding, and other job-site equipment
- Follow proper ladder setup, use, and job-site safety practices at all times
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the project
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
- Work efficiently as part of a crew while maintaining Chamberland’s quality standards
- Assist with minor carpentry and repair work when needed and qualified to do so
Qualifications
- Professional residential painting experience required
- Strong experience with both interior and exterior painting
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and priming
- Skilled with brushes and rollers; spray experience is a strong plus
- Comfortable and experienced working from ladders at residential job sites
- Understanding of proper ladder safety and safe work practices
- Ability to recognize and produce a high-quality finished product
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift approximately 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete required employment eligibility documentation upon hire
Strongly Preferred
- Carpentry experience, including trim repair, replacement, exterior wood repair, rot repair, siding repair, or similar residential carpentry work
- Cabinet painting and fine-finish experience
- Airless spray experience
- Experience working in high-end residential homes
- Experience working on older homes requiring detailed preparation and repair
- Ability to perform small repairs independently before painting
