What You’ll Do
As an EFDA, you’ll play an important role in keeping the clinical team running smoothly and helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assist the doctor during a variety of dental procedures
- Perform expanded functions within your certification and scope
- Provide patients with a comfortable and positive experience
- Prepare treatment rooms and support an efficient clinical workflow
- Take digital X-rays and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Educate patients on treatment and post-operative care
- Support sterilization and infection control protocols
- Work closely with the doctor and dental team throughout the day
- Help maintain a clean, organized and efficient clinical environment

- Previous dental assisting experience
